This 3D model of the existing building and the proposed single storey rear extension was built at the early concept design stages to test massing and physical impact on the neighbouring properties, which resulted in redesign of the height of the extension.

The model tested the sun path and solar gain to the large rear sliding doors and glazed gable, and the roofline brought forward to provide shading. This necessary design change could be perfectly illustrated to our clients with shadow studies and renderings.

The model was internally fully modelled to illustrate the vaulted ceiling with timber slatted finish, and bespoke furniture and finishes to help our clients visualize the new space and outlook.
